
In order to provide comfort for capital market transactions in Indonesia, currently the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) was preparing Investor Protection Fund (IPF). The main objective of the IPF is to protect retail investors. IDX party was targeting the establishment of the IPF process will be completed by the end of 2012.
The main goal of IPF is in the form of retail investors because institutional investors have more access than the retail investors and to provide a sense of confident well as in trading on the stock market.
The main protection targets of retail investors is one aspect, the aspect of protection prepared by the Stock Exchange to form the IPF. Another aspect is the legal aspect. This is because the lack of legal basis regarding this IPF.
Then the institutional aspects in terms of what legal form of institutions that will manage the IPF will be. If the reference from other countries such as China, Malaysia and other countries, already has a its own institutions to manage the IPF will be. Later the BEI will also establish a separate institution to manage this IPF.
